Here is a list of just a few local and national organizations you can engage with to take action against systemic racism and social injustice.

  • Advancement Project: A multi-racial civil rights organization which uses innovative tools and strategies to strengthen social movements and achieve high impact policy change.
  • Black Lives Matter: A global organization whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes.
  • The Bail Project: A non-profit organization designed to combat mass incarceration by disrupting the money bail system in America.
  • Community Justice Project: Their racial justice work combats state sanctioned violence and the criminalization of youth of color. It aims to dismantle structural and institutional racism while lifting up the voices of our grassroots clients and partners.
  • Equal Justice Initiative: An organization committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
  • Know Your Rights Camp: Know Your Rights Camp aims to advance the liberation, well-being and elevation of Black and brown communities through education, self empowerment, mass mobilization and the creation of new systems.
  • Urban League of Greater Miami: The Urban League of Greater Miami, Inc. is a non-profit community service agency that provides services in our community in employment, childcare, senior citizen services, housing, economic development, training, community service, political advocacy and education.
  • All of Us or None: A grassroots civil and human rights organization fighting for the rights of formerly-and currently-incarcerated people and their families.
  • National Action Network: National Action Network is one of the leading civil rights organizations in the Nation with chapters throughout the entire United States.
  • Change.org: The fastest-growing social change platform in the world, Change.org empowers millions of people to create change and seek justice in their communities through online petitions.
  • PACT Miami: PACT unites, organizes and trains leaders from diverse congregations, schools and community groups to build a powerful community voice. Individually and collectively, we empower ourselves, hold officials accountable, achieve systemic change, and promote fairness, justice and democracy in Miami-Dade County.
  • Eradicating the School to Prison Pipeline Inc: E-SToPP is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing youth, who are involved in or at risk of being involved in suspension, expulsion, serious school failure, dropping out, and/or incarceration, with hope for a new life through holistic care, empowering education, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship.
  • Concerned African Women: Concerned African Women facilitates community programs rooted in the affirmation that self-awareness is essential to success and is the bedrock ingredient to positive self-determination.
